Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 22, 2026
1. Overview
PureTempMail is designed with your privacy in mind. No account is required to use the service, and we limit data collection to what is technically necessary to deliver temporary email. This policy explains what data we handle, how third-party services we use may collect data, and what choices you have.
2. Data We Handle
Email messages
Inbound email messages (sender, subject, body, attachments) are stored temporarily in our database and filesystem. All data is automatically and permanently deleted when the mailbox expires. We do not read, scan, mine, or process message content beyond what is necessary to deliver it to your browser.
Mailbox identifiers
Your temporary email address is stored in your browser's localStorage. It is not sent to our servers unless you make an API request for that specific mailbox. We have no way to associate a mailbox with your real identity.
Server logs
Standard web server and SMTP logs may temporarily record IP addresses and request metadata for operational purposes such as error diagnosis and abuse prevention. These logs are rotated regularly, are not retained long-term, and are not shared with third parties.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with PureTempMail — for example, which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and what devices and browsers are used. Google Analytics collects this information using cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) and may process data including your IP address (anonymized where required by law), approximate geographic location, browser type, and referring URL.
Analytics data is used solely to improve the service and is not combined with data from other sources to identify individual users. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. Advertising
PureTempMail displays advertisements through Google AdSense to support the free operation of the service. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies (such as NID, IDE, and __gads) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This may involve the collection of information about your browsing activity across different sites.
You can manage your ad personalization preferences or opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ad Settings. You can also visit aboutads.infoto opt out of personalized advertising from other participating companies.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
PureTempMail and its third-party partners use the following types of cookies and browser storage:
Essential (browser storage)
Your mailbox identifier is stored in localStorage so you can return to the same inbox within a session. Your theme preference (light/dark/system) and cookie consent choice are also stored locally. No server-side cookies are set by PureTempMail itself.
Analytics cookies
Set by Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and measure site usage. These cookies expire after up to 2 years.
Advertising cookies
Set by Google AdSense and its partners to deliver relevant advertisements and limit how often you see the same ad. These cookies may persist for varying durations depending on the specific cookie.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential browser storage may affect the functionality of the service. Blocking analytics or advertising cookies will not affect core functionality.
6. Data We Do Not Collect
- No account registration or personal information (name, phone, payment details)
- No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking by PureTempMail itself
- No selling, renting, or trading of your data to third parties
7. Data Retention
We retain emails and attachments only for the lifetime of the mailbox. When a mailbox expires, we permanently delete all associated messages and attachments from our systems in the next automatic cleanup cycle. There is no manual deletion process — expiry is fully automatic. Server logs are rotated regularly and not retained for more than 30 days.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain types of data processing
- Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because PureTempMail does not require an account and does not store persistent personal identifiers, most user data is effectively anonymous. If you have a specific request, contact us using the details below.
9. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar legislation applies, we process data on the following legal bases: Legitimate interest for operating the service and maintaining server logs; Consent for analytics and advertising cookies, which you may grant or withdraw through the cookie consent mechanism provided on the site.
10. Children's Privacy
PureTempMail is not directed at children under the age of 16 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the service, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Security
Email messages are not end-to-end encrypted. While data is protected in transit via TLS where supported, messages are stored unencrypted at rest. Do not use PureTempMail to receive sensitive information such as passwords, financial data, or personal documents. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we handle, but no system is completely secure.
12. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in a single jurisdiction. If you access PureTempMail from outside that jurisdiction, your data may cross international borders in transit. Third-party services such as Google Analytics and Google AdSense may transfer data to servers in other countries. Google provides safeguards for such transfers as described in their privacy documentation.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice.
